To restore their beautiful older home, respectful of its historic charm, while making it livable for today's family lifestyle. The 1930's 'Country' home was originally designed during the Great Depression by Frazier and Bodin and completed around 1940.
We restored 7,800 square feet of the original home — replacing damaged flooring, stripping lead paint, repairing slate and copper roofing, updating baths, and rewiring original lighting fixtures.
A complete renovation was performed on the kitchen where we also added a breakfast sunroom to the east elevation.
The home's china closet was stripped and restored, and the paint was chosen to highlight the colors in the owner's china collection. The brass hardware was refurbished to its original beauty, including the floor service buttons.
We added a new family room with a covered outdoor patio and fireplace to the south end of the home.
And converted the lower basement beneath the garage into a billiard, kitchenette, and theater space while keeping the original porcelain floor.
Garden walls were created, and a motor court with two freestanding garages was added. Styled landscaping completed this 12,000 square foot restoration project.
